In her Wachovia NEXT Award acceptance speech at the 2009 OFN conference, Juliana Eades challenged other community development financial institutions to start doing mortgage lending to homeowners in resident-owned manufactured housing communities.
The New Hamphire Community Loan Fund received the 2009 Wachovia NEXT Award for Opportunity Finance, the highest honor awarded to community development financial institutions. The Community Loan Fund was honored for its Cooperative Home Loan program, which makes conventional fixed-rate mortgages available to owners of manufactured housing in resident-owned communities.
